The strategy of aligner orthodontics in prosthbtic treatment

In prosthetic treatment, tooth position is an essential piece of the pursuit of esthetics, function, and long-term stability. Consequently, while occlusion must be properly considered, orthodontic treatment should take precedence over prosthetic treatment that sacrifices enamel.
This is because modern 3D simulations with high predictability and feasibility allow the prosthodontist to correct the teeth to the ideal position, according to their judgement, thus providing high quality prosthodontic treatment.
This presentation, through examination of clinical cases, including occlusal reconstruction by utilizing a digital workflow with in-house aligners, will discuss how general dentists (GPs) utilize aligner orthodontics, and how the approach and strategy of orthodontic treatment as a pre-treatment for prosthetic treatment has changed.
