Abstract
The 6th Japan Academy of Aligner Orthodontics Annual Congress 2019
- an approach to extraction case based on the G6 protocol
- In 2015, Align Technologies released the Invisalign G6 Protocol (G6) for premolar extraction treatments. The presenter believes that when performing extraction treatments with Invisalign, G6 is a vital treatment option. This presentation will discuss various points of consideration in G6 treatments through several clinical cases.
Cases presented will be:
Basic G6 treatment: Moderate crowding with lateral incisor crossbite treated with 4 premolar extraction. As treatment proceeded, anterior early contact resulted in molar openbite, leading to bowing. Treatment was completed with Invisalign recovering and finishing.
Lingual arch: With strong incline in the anterior and canines, if the plane of aligner insertion and removal is inappropriately calibrated, aligner unfit can result. To prevent this from happening, this case featured use of an lingual arch prior to aligner treatment.
