Abstract
The 10th Japan Academy of Aligner Orthodontics Annual Congress 2023
- Digital Orthodontic Diagnostics of Today and Tomorrow 〜The Work of Smile Architects~
- Since the advent of the intraoral scanner (IOS), digitalization in the dental field has made significant progress. With specialized software, it is now possible to fully integrate DICOM data from CBCT and STL and PLY data from IOS, rather than viewing each data set separately. Furthermore, superimposed facial data and AI-based video superimposition technology have also evolved, making it possible to provide patients with digital 3D images, which, until now could only be provided with physical models. These achievements are suggesting that dental treatment, which has been segmented into orthodontic treatment and prosthetic treatment, will soon seamlessly integrate examination and diagnosis from a holistic viewpoint, goal-oriented reverse treatment planning, and patient management during treatment.
In this presentation, I will introduce a simpler method of digital orthodontic treatment by incorporating the concept of prosthetic design in adult orthodontics.
